Accessibility statement
Our commitment
The Online Psychologists is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Accessible design is central to our values. Mental health support should be available to everyone, and that starts with a website that works for everyone.
Measures we have taken
We have built this website with accessibility in mind from the outset. The measures we have taken include:
- Semantic HTML5 structure throughout the site, ensuring content is meaningful and well-organised for assistive technologies
- ARIA landmarks and labels to help screen reader users navigate and understand page regions
- Full keyboard navigation, including the mobile menu and FAQ accordion, so all functionality is available without a mouse
- A skip to content link on every page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios across all text and interactive elements, meeting WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
- Form inputs with proper labels and error states, so users can complete forms confidently with assistive technologies
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements, making it clear where keyboard focus is at all times
- Text resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Descriptive alt text on all images, providing meaningful context for users who cannot see them
- Responsive design tested across devices, ensuring a usable experience on mobile, tablet and desktop

We regularly review our website for accessibility issues. If any issues are identified, we are working to resolve them as quickly as possible. If you encounter a problem, we would appreciate you letting us know.
